Fix With Your Own Assistant

Copy a finding's fix prompt into your own coding assistant, such as Claude Code or Cursor, as an alternative to a fix pull request.

The copy-fix prompt

On a finding's Fix tab, Fix it with your own assistant copies a prompt for a coding agent. Anyone who can read the finding can copy it. It costs nothing and uses no AI on our side: it is a template.

The prompt holds the finding's id, severity and how it was proven, a link to it in LaunchSafe, everything the scan reported (where it is, what is wrong, what could happen, how to fix it, up to two code excerpts), and what to do next. It ends by saying how to ask LaunchSafe for a retest once the change is on the right branch.

What is left out

  • Requests, responses and logs stay in LaunchSafe.
  • A committed secret is described by its type, file and line. Its value and excerpt are never included.
  • Everything passes secret masking, which is best effort.
  • Finding text sits in a clearly marked data block, so a coding agent treats it as data and not as instructions.

After the fix

Push the change to the branch the finding was found on, then press Retest in LaunchSafe. Only a retest closes a finding. See fix pull requests and retests.

Coding agents over MCP

Settings → Coding agents lets you connect a coding agent to LaunchSafe's MCP server. The agent acts as you, within your role. Owners and admins can turn its write tools off. Every tool call is in the audit log.
